Living with a reactive dog can feel exhausting, isolating and honestly… pretty overwhelming at times. One minute you’re planning a nice walk, the next you’re apologising while your dog is barking, lunging, spinning, freezing or completely losing themselves in the environment around them.
At Anything is Pawsable, we specialise in working with reactive, sensitive and overwhelmed dogs across West Yorkshire. Our goal isn’t simply to “stop” behaviours — it’s to understand what’s driving them in the first place so we can create lasting, realistic change.
Reactivity can show up in many different ways. Some dogs bark and lunge because they’re fearful. Others become frustrated, over excited or overstimulated. Some shut down completely. Many owners are told their dog is being “dominant,” “stubborn” or “naughty,” when in reality their dog is struggling emotionally and lacks the tools to cope with certain situations.
Our training focuses on helping dogs feel safer, calmer and more capable within the world around them.

One of the biggest things we focus on is realism. Dogs do not learn in a straight line and progress is rarely perfect. We help owners understand the “why” behind behaviour so they can confidently support their dog through both the wins and the difficult days.
No two dogs are the same, which means no two training plans are the same either. Whether your dog needs distance, confidence, decompression, clearer communication or simply help learning how to switch off, we tailor our approach to the individual dog in front of us.
Most importantly, we support the humans too. Having a reactive dog can be emotionally draining and many owners feel embarrassed, frustrated or alone before reaching out. Our aim is to create a supportive environment where both you and your dog can learn without pressure or judgement.
Because reactive dogs aren’t giving owners a hard time… they’re often having a hard time themselves 💙
